New design collection presented in a shared showcase during Milan Design Week 2026. An armchair as skeleton, a rug as heart, floor and table lamps as boning and a screen as a spatial fold. Within Sculptural Couture, the logic of the fashion show is translated into space.
Milan, Italy - During Milan Design Week 2026, Sculptural Couture is presented as a collaborative design showcase by Virginia Arlotto Studio, Jeroen De Ruddere, Collector and Malcusa.
“In Milan, fashion is part of the city. With Sculptural Couture, I wanted to translate that language into space, where construction, material and form remain visible.” - Art Director Virginia Arlotto
The showcase takes place in the studio of interior architect and designer Virginia Arlotto in Brera, transformed for the occasion into an architectural couture piece. The walls are covered with felt panels, stitched together with visible seams. The felt forms the skin of the space, while the lines of the seams recall tailoring marks. These traces of construction give the space an almost wearable quality.
Within this setting, the armchair Equilibria, designed by Virginia Arlotto studio, is presented for the first time. Its composition of cylinders, cubes and soft volumes refers to a skeletal structure.
For the heart of Sculptural Couture, Virginia Arlotto, in collaboration with Malcusa, created the rug Terrasole. An organic central form extends outward in rays, physically connected by a metal loop. Spread across the floor, the rug recalls pattern pieces laid flat during the making of a garment. The Tree Cabinet, designed by Virginia Arlotto in collaboration with Collector, acts as a spatial fold within the installation. The two vertical volumes introduce rhythm and pause, structuring what unfolds backstage.
